The Hippy Part of Melbourne

Inner northern suburbs like Fitzroy, Collingwood, and Brunswick East are starting to become Wenty's favourite places to visit these days. Their charismatic streetscape, cool alternative shops and nice cafes are major draw points.

One of her favourite shops is The Lost & Found Market, where they sell vintage second hand stuffs. They also have vintage arcade game, which help to keep Rafa occupied during our visits.

The East Brunswick shop has the above racing car game which you can play for free. The Collingwood shop has a much older b & w game that you can play for just 20c a pop. Not that he knows how to play them yet, but hey a steering wheel and some visual and sound effects are always amusing to a 2 year old.

As for cafes, places like Little Creatures are always interesting to visit and child friendly. The food is nice too.

Those toy cars and the little golden books belong to the cafe, very handy to keep Rafa happy on a slightly longer lunch.

I am not a hippie/leftie/artistic type myself but even for someone like me, it's good to visit this side of Melbourne every now and then.
